Transport for London (TfL) has announced a multi-billion pound investment plan to bring 24-hour 'Night Tube' services to the District and Circle lines by late 2027, a move hailed as a "game-changer" for the capital's night-time economy.

The expansion is made possible by the completion of a decade-long signalling upgrade across the sub-surface network. The new services are expected to support over 50,000 jobs in the hospitality and entertainment sectors.

"A world-class city needs a world-class transport system that never sleeps," said the Mayor of London. "This is about making our city safer, more accessible, and more vibrant after dark."

Business groups have welcomed the announcement, though some residents' associations have raised concerns about increased noise levels in residential areas near overground sections of the tracks.
