In a major sweep of ethics reforms, the government has introduced new rules requiring all Ministers and senior civil servants to publish a full list of all meetings with executives from the technology sector within 24 hours.

The move follows concerns over the influence of 'Big Tech' on national policy, particularly regarding AI safety and data regulation. Failure to disclose meetings could result in dismissal for officials and heavy fines for the companies involved.

"Transparency is the only antidote to the perception of undue influence," said the Cabinet Office Minister.
